Beef and Bison both have qualities that your may find beneficial. Frankly, it just comes down to what your fitness goals are. If you are trying to gain weight, beef might be a better option for you based on the calories per ounce. Although, this calorie difference can be made up in about a 7 minute run. If you're on a high fat diet, then obviously beef is the choice to meet your macronutrient needs. If you're trying to loose weight, then red meat should be a treat meal for you anyway, so stay away until refeed day!!!

As far as protein goes, you can see there is not much difference. Protein is a nutrient that promotes the growth and repair of your body's hard and soft tissues, including bone and muscle. You need it, especially if you're in the weight room.

As always, be carful with saturated fat. The USDA suggests limiting saturated fat to just 10 percent of your total daily calories as it can increase your risk of heart disease. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics considers bison to be a healthy alternative to beef.

So, if your ready for some red meat and you want to keep the fat down, bison is your guy! If you don't care, grab the cheaper one and stick with beef. :)
